In celebration of the 100th day of school, the students at Wood View Elementary decide to collect food items for the West Suburban Community Food Pantry, according to a release from the District. The goal was for each class to collect 100 food items before the 100th day of school on Jan. 31, the District said.
Last week, the food pantry picked up the collected items, and the final total was over 1,300 food items collected by staff and students. According to the District, kindergarten students made the flyers for the boxes, decorated the boxes, and delivered the boxes to all the classrooms; and fifth graders collected the classroom tallies each morning.
