Volunteers change the world. They provide service, comfort, support, guidance, enthusiasm, compassion, commitment, and pathways to success, just to name a few. Volunteers are heroes who do the little jobs, the big jobs, and everything in between.

At WSCP, volunteers enable us to fulfill the mission of offering food and resources to empower people to improve their quality of life. Their contributions make for a safer, stronger, and happier community. To all our volunteers past and present, we thank you!

For those looking for an opportunity to volunteer, we welcome you. Come on your own, with a friend, a family member, or with a group. There’s always a need where your efforts will be appreciated. Volunteer Coordinator, Colleen Loftus, described it like this, “One of the beauties of the Pantry is that customers come not just for food, but also for our volunteers. They look forward to their friendly faces. In an effort to provide food, WSCP has opened up a world of connection and kindness.”

While there’s always a variety of volunteer opportunities, two areas are in critical need of more support:

  • Thursdays at the Pantry

We are proud and pleased to expand the shopping hours and be the first pantry in the area to offer a full day of shopping. On Thursdays, shopping is open from 8:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m. We need volunteers to stock shelves and provide customer service.

  • Off-Site Food Unloading and Distribution

The Pantry operates four off-site locations where Virtual Food Pantry orders are picked up. Volunteers are needed to unload the truck and distribute orders to customers when they arrive for pick-up.

We can also customize volunteer opportunities. We’ve hosted Scout troops, friends groups, corporate teams, church groups, and more. Let us know what you’re looking for in a volunteer experience and we can explore the possibilities together. Learn about group volunteer FAQs here.
