WSCP is seeing a 50% increase in demand.

With schools closed, families normally depend on schools for providing breakfast, lunch, and snacks to their children each school day may now be having to provide these meals and snacks themselves and may not have the funding necessary to do so.

The number of individuals that have lost their jobs has skyrocketed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and these numbers are anticipated to continue to climb.

Grocery stores are challenged as demand has increased significantly as a result of customers stocking up on food. As a result, grocery stores have less food they can donate to WSCP.

Senior services may be strained, and we are now needed more than ever to close the gap and provide food to seniors at risk of hunger.

With families and individuals now having to spend so much more time at home, electricity bills are higher, an economic burden especially for families already who may have already been struggling to make ends meet even before the COVID-19 pandemic.

VOLUNTEERS

WSCP needs volunteers! We are looking for individuals to help with sorting food donations, stock shelves and pack boxes for food distribution.

At this time for the safety of you, other volunteers, staff, and the customers we can only have volunteers that are not in the high-risk category according to the CDC to help with sorting, stocking, making pre-packed boxes and food distribution.

Contact Cheryl at 630.948.8134 or ctoohey@wscpantry.org if you are interested in learning more.

GIFT CARDS

Grocery stores – this allows WSCP to purchase essential food items we may be in need of to distribute to individuals in need.

Restaurants providing drive-thru, carry out, and/or delivery services – we can give restaurant gift cards to families and individuals in need to supplement food distribution.

FUNDRAISERS

We have an amazing community that is supporting us and raising some much-needed dollars to help during this time. See below for a complete list of community fundraisers to benefit WSCP.
