The Hand Up Fund sponsored by Nick and Teresa Ryan

Goal: To raise $100K in 100 days to give families a hand up during their time of personal crisis.

The communities that WSCP serves have never seen a challenge like the one we are experiencing now because of the pandemic. Nick and Teresa Ryan are asking for you to join them in being a part of the solution.

Over the next 100 days, the Ryan’s will match 50% of every gift received, with a goal of raising $100,000 collectively. Nick and Teresa’s goal is to help people get back on their feet and help relieve some of the stress that comes with not being able to provide nutritious meals to their children.

“Teresa and I are pleased to be able to offer West Suburban Community Pantry customers a hand up, not a handout, in their time of need. Providing people with food for their families can help them afford shelter, healthcare, and the childcare they need to re-enter the workforce. With the cooperation of other social service agencies, the Pantry can support families in obtaining the life skills and job readiness training that can lead to greater self-sufficiency. We are all for that”, says Nick Ryan.

Reaching the goal of $100,000 will feed 185 individuals 3 meals a day for one year – which equals 202,575 meals! It would also support the programming that will help these families get back on their feet – the ultimate goal!
